Unfortunately these babies are 'depreciating assets' and you go past a 'economical' point of return, although if you have the $$$ then it is not an issue...

...E34 keeps up with Z8 until... transmission self destructs because it wasn't designed for the extra power.
Probably better look at the entire driveline or maybe buy an M5.
I know the quest for power is very tempting, but it's probably better to buy a car with the power designed in.

Hey guys,
I, like everyone here, am in love with my e34. It's a 92 525i 5spd M50 NON-Vanos. As you can see I'm not dealing with a lot of power. I was thinking of a major project and I would like some feed back. 1. An engine swap for a M3 engine. Question: What year M3 engine could I put in my car and how much do you think it would be. 2. ActiveAutoworke Turbo Stage 2 Generation 3 upgrade. It rockets the M3 0-60 in 4.2sec. Imagine and E34 pulling up to a Z8 and keeping up with it!!! Any extra information you could give me would help. Thanks guys.
