I've had to do this recently. Remove the rear seat to get to the remote box. Take the top of the remote box. Inside you will see a small 4 or 5 pin socket designed for a chip to slide into horizontally. You will also see a small momentary contact style push button switch. This is what you'll use to program the chip from the transmitter. Take the transmitter apart. You will see a small square shaped chip with a bubble on one side. Note the orientation of the chip so you can put it back the same way. Slide it out of the connector. Slide the chip into the connector on the remote box. Push the momentary contact switch and wait until you see the red light on the back of the center console flash. (I'm not sure if that's necessary or not). After that the chip is now programmed. Put the chip back in the transmitter and try it before you put it all back together. The orientation of the chip for all the steps above is "bubble side up" I believe. However, if you get the orientation wrong it will not hurt anything. It just won't program is all. Try again the other way. I just bought a keyless entry keychain transmitter of ebay and my car does ahve to the box under the seat how to i put the two on the same signal? 95 530i thnaks John
