It seems everything BMW fixes costs at least 5 bills. Buy a waterpump from the dealer or from Zygmunt. This is an afternoon consuming job but you will also learn that a lot of those $500 jobs are not that tough and the parts are fairly cheap. Get a Bentley manual for refernence. Remember to change the gasket. Also, replace any worn hoses at the same time. Also, if your car has a timing belt, might as well do that too since your most of the way there anyhow.
Has anyone attempted to change a water pump on a 540. If so should i attempt it? Or should i pay 450 at Bimmer.
