doesn't have it, the 540i has 282hp, but easily out accelerates the 300hp A6 4.2. Why you ask. Simple torque. 324lb-ft to be exact. Go take a seat rice boy.
Such is life. You pay 30k for a 260hp 3000 lbs 150 mph car and some dying (you said it) 540, about the same hp and many more extra lbs, outruns you on the highway. Damn, that's tough. No problem, for the new 300 hp 2003 Nissan Maxima will come along and spank the BMW. And then will come the 400hp 2005 Honda Civic to spank the Nissan.
