the cupholders (and eve further from me to pick on you), but I've seen this mentioned a lot and I have yet to understand what exactly is the problem with the cupholders ? Why don't they work ? Is it that they melt down, they have a rough idle, they need upgraded (lowering) springs or they need bigger wheels ?

There's no place in that car for one. (Maybe in the rear..) I have yet to see a manual car with a great cupholder that pleases everyone and doesn't block access to anything.

Dragos
understands that some people need a cupholder, but they should also put up with some inconveniences

Has anyone found a cupholder solution that works well for E34's (I have a 535i 5 speed). I've checked the archives, but am not sure if (a) the cupholders.com/bavarian auto flip-up ones are any good; (b) the "figure 8" model sold by the dealer for around $30 is any good (seems like it would get in the way for the passenger); (c) there's a good, cheap solution from Autozone or some other place.

Thanks in advance.
