Uh, no, I was referring to the future Maxima driver who when this Maxima comes out and thinks he can school anyone.

I'm a ricer racer? That stung!

Dude, lay off the crack pipe and grab a bucket filled with iced water. It'll help you think.

Now, lemme draw it for you, perhaps you'll understand :

a super car of 20 years ago is beaten by an upscale car of 10 years ago, which will be beaten by today's/tomorrow's normal sedan, which will be beaten by the subcompact of the next generation.

And hence you see the futility of comparing highway acceleration notes.

thinks you're actually the kind of the ricer racer

doesn't have it, the 540i has 282hp, but easily out accelerates the 300hp A6 4.2. Why you ask. Simple torque. 324lb-ft to be exact. Go take a seat rice boy.

Such is life. You pay 30k for a 260hp 3000 lbs 150 mph car and some dying (you said it) 540, about the same hp and many more extra lbs, outruns you on the highway. Damn, that's tough. No problem, for the new 300 hp 2003 Nissan Maxima will come along and spank the BMW. And then will come the 400hp 2005 Honda Civic to spank the Nissan.

PS That was not a long post.
