I don't know if all the years and models are the same, but there's idler pulleys on my 93 525i that you can push to relieve the tension. Just push them and stick a screw driver or allen wrench in the holes when they line up. This relieves the belt tension and they can slip right off. You need to pay close attention to how they wrap around the pulleys or you'll spend hours trying to put the new belts on. I suggest you draw a picture of the belt flow before you take them off.


the multiribbed belt? I don't know if I sould try to do it myself. how hard was it?
