Vacuum leak? Easy to find/fix? (archive)

All,

I noticed the past week or so that I have a high-pitched whistle or squeal coming from under the hood at almost any engine speed above idle. It seems to be correlated with throttle position. I also hear a hissing sound under hard acceleration that is very different from what I've heard from other induction setups.

I'm wondering about a vacuum leak. Anyone ever replace the vacuum hoses and/or the vacuum pump? I assume there's a vacuum pump. Is it a major PIA or is it do-able?
