In Reply to: Any E34 5-speed for sale near Charlotte, NC? posted by JeffreyOlson on September 30, 2001 at 19:51:30:

You say that you "prefer" a 5 speed. A lot of people prefer a 5 speed, and those that got 'em who are selling 'em probably ask up to thousands more. It took over a year for me to find an e-34 with a 5 speed, low miles, and the color I wanted. ALso, I had to go across the country to buy it. A very risky proposition that worked out for me, since I think it's the best car I've ever owned (92/535i/5spd) in my 40 years of driving. Start looking at all the web sites regularly (autotrader.com, cars.com, e-bay, excitecorp.com, this board, etc.) and enjoy your e-28 in the meantime. BTW, I've got an e-28 too and be prepared for a very different ride. Not necessarily better or worse, just different. Good luck.

Thinking about making the jump from an '88 E28 535is. Not familiar with E34's but it seems like they are all automatics and WAY overpriced! Prefer a 5-speed if available.

Located in Charlotte, NC if anyone has a local lead.

Thanks!
