I just love it. Confortable, safe, extremely reliable, very nice design and it is not SLOW at all. It easy outruns many of the cars you see in the roads. Believe me, it is true.
I have done 20k in the last 9 months without any problems ( I study in France, near Paris so I always take the car with me). For me no other car combines the build quality, handling and style of a BMW. Until you've driven a well set up rear wheel drive car you don't know what you're missing.
I went car shopping with my 16 year old son today. Of course he was drawn to all the rice rockets but then we came to a 1990 525i and he loved it. It's a red 5-speed with a straight body for $6990. What do you all think about these cars for as a "first car?" I know how safe they are and even though the 525i isn't going to win any drag races it does have good mid-range powwer.
