Value of 95 530?-engine unknown (archive)

I'm new to this group, but an avid fan of the E28 group. My question is this; I have an opportunity to purchase a 95 530i w/unknown engine. What is the estimated value between a nikasil & updated engine all things being equal? Before I get into money or history discussions, I feel I need this info. Of course I've investigated blue-blackbook value, but this seems to be of no help. Thanks to all in advance.
