In the place of the kit BMW has available, I fashioned my own stuffing from foam window weatherstripping and some firm open-cell foam packaging from some computer equipment. I may have packed mine a bit tight; I now do not get the annoying buzz, but on particularly bass-y items, I can set both of my sunroof panels bopping like drums.
The document does not go into HOW to get the speaker housings down - the tweeters are easier than the midranges, all 4 of them need to be brought forward and then down from the rear first. I think the larger grilles had side clips that had to be compressed to allow them to drop down. Go slow and easy and they should come down without much of a fight. Thin, dull, taped up (to protect fabric) screwdrivers will help here.
we've been getting weird bass vibrations in our back speakers and i think it's the grill, or maybe a bad woofer. we would have the problem fixed this morning, 'cept our bentley's manual doesn't show how to get rear speaker grills off on the touring, and unfortunately, it doesn't just pry out. thanks for the help.
