I have a 530i as well as mine is doing the same thing. I posted it last week and the replies I got indicated it is probably the Idle Control Valve or a faulty temperature sensor. I have not replace the ICV yet or checked/cleaned the temperature sensor. Let me know what you find.

When I start my 530 up in the cold morning it starts right up, however, it stumbles and then I have to give her gas for a few seconds until it stabilizes.

What are the possible problems?

block is new--so its not that
