The euro ellipsoid headlight uses H1 bulbs... I got HID in these headlight... and that is why it is so bright and powerful.

People say that US non-ellipsoid headlight is better than US ellipsoid, I tend to agree because my original US ellipsoid is a joke for headlight... barely any light on the road. Wet? forget it... flashlight would be better.

Cost for complete headlight assembly... low and high is $485 for both side... I bought mine at Bekkers Import.

There are some folks here that bought just the low beam ellipsoid used from ebay for $150 or so a pair and install it on their car.

Even if you don't upgrade to HID, you can run 100W H1 bulbs on the euro ellipsoid without any worry... the housing is all metal compared to US which is plastic and will melt with high wattage bulb.
