Our Australian spec 1991 535i was specially ordered with a manual transmission and sports suspension. The sports suspension was standard on 525i's with manual transmissions.
The suspension 'kit' consisted off M5 sway bars, slightly firmer and lower springs and firmer shocks. This is not M5 suspension as the M5's had self levelling rear suspension.
The suspension spec may vary from market to market.
The best bang for the bucks is a JC chip. They work wonders on the M30 engine. In Australia this chip gives a dyno verified 10kw (14hp)increase at the back wheels on a 535i.
I am just in a process of buying a 1992 BMW 525 with M suspension. i was wondering if anyone knows wheather that was a factory option? Also can you point me to a source for performance parts (like chips)?
Thanks in advance. Also any other info about this car would be greatly appreciated.
