SICK mechanic who gives tips on
loading up on Sulfer to fail a test.
But hey, you're in the money ride now!!!
(And happy to hear you were running great all along!)

No problem Peter.

it was the first time leak-down test was done.
i knew my window closed 12/00, so I wanted to run
it hard and have it tested near the end of
coverage. FYI - a BMW mechanic recommended
that I run Arco 87 a week before and going into
the leakdown test. not sure if it made a difference, but what the hell. end result =
failed test = new block for free. and to be honest, the idle was smooth and ran very well
before the leak down test!

Brett

Thanks Brett --
One more follow up --
Was 9/00 the first time a leak-down was done,
or did it pass earlier, and fail later?
Thx,
Peter

Hi Peter

1. 61,772 on Nikasil block before swap 9/00
2. 92 Chevron Supreme before swap, but I am
the 2nd owner, bought April 99 with 40K miles
3. swap was within the 6yr/100K mile warranty,
Certified Warranty expired 12/00

hope this helps!

Brett

Hi Brett, if you'd be so kind...
1. How many miles on Nikasil before swap?
2. Octane history before the swap?
3. Was swap within warranty or post-warranty?
Thx,
Peter
