How sensitive are E34s to tyres as far as ride quality is concerned?
Got a set of not very expensive tyres fitted some time back and noticed that I could feel bumps, etc. in the road a LOT more than before but I put it down to the tyres being over inflated and then maybe thought that it was because they were new (Feels as if the tyres are made of plastic or stone instead of rubber) but things haven't improved since.
Tyre pressures are correct & suspension is good.
The old tyres were fairly worn Dunlop somethings 195/60 15 H rated.
The new tyres are Firestone F590 195/65/15 91T Fuel Saver(Didn't see 'Fuel Saver' written on them until a week or so after I got them :( ).
Could these tyres be making the car less smooth on the road? I had thought the higher profile would have improved the ride!
What make or type of tyre would you recommend for the most comfort/smoothest ride on rough roads? (Roads are VERY VERY bad here)
Thanks in advance,
Damo.
