Hi,

I have a 535i and Im having problems with the Interior heating.

All I can get to come out of the floor vents is hot air, even if I turn the driver and passenger temp dials to cool. The middle vents put out cool air but they have their own temp dial.

I have looked through the Archives and all I can come up with is a possible sensor valve that could be stuck, possible ?

Anyone know how I can fix this, and is it going to be costly ?

Much Appreciated,

David

DAVID. JOE S. IS RIGHT. THE VALVES, WHICH ON THE E-34 THERE ARE TWO, ONE FOR THE RIGHT AND ONE FOR THE LEFT. THESE ARE CALLED DUO-VALVES, HENCE TWO, DUO. THEY WERE MONO-VALVES ON THE EARLIER MODEL. I AM PRETTY SURE YOU CAN REPLACE THE "DIAPHRAM" IN THE VALVES. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IN MY 1984 533I AND A REPLACE OF THE DIAPHRAM SOLVED IT. CHECK WITH THE DEALER TO SEE IF YOU CAN GET JUST THE REPAIR KIT
GOOD LUCK
CW
