The front half which contains the resonators and the rear half with your muffler. Not sure if anyone would put on just one half(muffler).

BB Tri-Flo is one of the loudest aftermarket exhaust system they make for the e34. I know Tim is pondering a muffler or some sort of silencing device due to the drone the mufflerless sound. I would tell you to search the arcives, but the search enigine for this message board sucks ass. It's a shame because much quality discussion has occured on this board with regard to exhaust. Much valuable information.

Back to your question - take a peak under your car. The BB TriFlo should be all stainless and(I would think) it's appearance would be much lighter in color than the stock pipes?

My $0.02 -

I have never gotten my car on a lift to look at the exhaust system. Does anyone have an E34 with no mufflers? I was toying with the idea of unbolting the system from the cat-back, just to see what she would sound like. I have B&B Tri-Flo, is that a cat-back system?
