You may be idling too high at 900. Normal should be 600-700. Coasting w/o brake seems fast at 5mph. Should be around 2-3 mph.

Recently purchased my 535i Automatic, and this is my first Automatic car.

When in any mode except "N" or "P" when at stand-still the car always tries to move, I have to keep my foot on the brake to keep it still. Is this Normal ? The car Idles at 900 rpm.

I can take my foot of the brake, and crawl along at about 5mph. It might be compeltely normal, but I was just a bit worried about Brake wear.
