I still see you mentioning the 3rd gen Jetta, 4th gen Passat.

The last generation VWs are a world ahead. My family has owned VWs for the past 10+ years, three different generations so I believe I was able to see firsthand their evolution in time.

Gen II/III were indeed creaky plasticky transportation - still, the interior stood up, even if it was dated from day 1. Gen IV (V Passat)is a tactile sensation not to be missed, though.
