I thought they used all M5s. I was watching the DVD with the director commentating. I think he said that he used 3 M5s for the movie. I don't recall him saying he used other E34s. He might of though.

The gauges might of been different becuase for some of the scenes when they had a shot of the woman in the drivers seat, they actually installed another steering wheel on the other side. They did that to make it look like she was driving, because the car was acutally being driven by the stunt driver when they shot her. At least that's what he was explaining in the commentary.
