I have the shadowline trim, "BMW Motorsport" door handles, tri-colored threading on the steering wheel, birds eye maple trim, small oval sport mirrors, same color seal plates as interior and a nice light clutch pedal. Conventional wisdom says the previous owner was a M5 fanatic and dropped big bucks on cosmetic mods. I've gone the other route and now have a DINAN M5, which I love. I would be curious to hear from any other 91 owners who also have cars with the more modern cosmetic updates. Just interested in seeing if this was widely done. TIA.
I have 2 local dealers who each have good condition M5's for sale. One is a 1991 model while the other is a 1993 version. Aside from the usual issues such as mileage, availablility of service records, general condition and price, is there any major difference between the model years which should influence my decision? I am going to drive both, but have little frame of reference as I have never driven a BMW before, much less an M5.
