Hello! I hope there are somebody out there that can help me?? Two days ago I bought my dream car.A 1993 BMW M5 Touring (Nûrnbergring 340 HP). The thing is that there are a
little "cracking" sound if you listen carefully. The sound
occure with a spesific rpm. And Is more easy to hear when the engine is hot.The BMW workshop here in Norway said that it might be the small end bush or pin and It will cost a fortune.
My idea is that it could be the chain drive that is worn.Or
that it`s something with the tensioner for the chain. The chain gets longer with hot engine. Am I thinking right here?
Small end bush/pin trouble how can I detect this by sound?
How often should you change the this cam-drive-chain??Please respond!!!
It could be the tensioner or the plastic guideway for the tensioner or maybe something else. Anyway you MUST join the E34m5 group at www.egroups.com/group/bmwe34m5. There are some VERY knowledgable people there who will help you
Andy
