I bought my '92 M5 (used) with tinted windows. I like the way they look and they really do keep the interior cooler on warm days. They are not too dark.. probably a 3 on your scale, but all the windows are done with the same shade.

Check out the attached pic.

Unless you do not have a garage, or your live in an incredibly hot climate, I personally would not tint the windows. Mine were tinted when I bought the car and I like it much better without the tint.

The only exception would be car color. I have seen a few pics of red M5's with limo tint and it looks real nice. Not for me though.

I am thinking about tinting the Windows on my E34 M5. In my opinion, tint can have a nice effect on most cars, but have seen some tint jobs that change the cars entire appearance for the worst.

My question is, should I tint the windows? What shade of darkness (I thin their ranked 1 thru 5, 5 being limousine tint)? Tint only the rearview and rear passenger? What about the two front?

If anyone has a picture they could e-mail me of their E34, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

M
