Hi Pat.
You say that the Bi Turbo has an dogleg gearbox. Do you by that mean that the first gear is to the left and back ???
Because the Bi Turbo is normaly delivered standard with the "normal" gear system and the fith gear is not 1:1 but 1: 0,83 .
And yes you are right the Bi Turbo is cabable of "killing" an M5 E34 easy and also follow or take the M5 E 39.
Its an fantastic car .........

Hi Denis,
There is a big difference between the //M5 and
the Alpina. The //M5 to me is more of a relaxed
but stiff runner, like an on/off switch you can
turn it on and it is a handful to beat, the Alpina is an off the line runner and has a steady and constant power band. The torque is no where close to the Alpina //M 295 vs Alpina 385, they are 2 totally different runners. The gear boxes are so different the Alpina has a close ratio racing getrag dogleg tranny, and the //M has a standard motorsport tranny. Both do what they were designed to do. I actually was comparing to the almighty E39 M5 not E34. I love the E34 M5

True it does not that //M feeling, but if you ever owned or drove an Alpina "it has That Alpina feeling". I love my //M5 interior it is cloth soo
comfortable. See picture....Don't get me wrong
I am not Bashing //M5s Just a proud owner of both.

Hi there!
I think you're a little too optimistic with the numbers....it should be about the same as E34 M5 in my opinion. But if you own both, you know better I guess....How do they compare? Does it have ///M feeling? I doubt it...
