if you were to rebuild one yourself, you would probably have a question somewhere along the way, and there is no documentation on this car anywhere in the world, plus there is no source(to my knowledge) of a complete DIY stroker kit. so you have to kinda source a part here and there and hope that it all works.
if you go to Kormann autowerks, they source all of the parts, have a bmw MASTER technician build the damn thing and then they guarentee it for like a year... the only drawback is the price...close to $18,500...you could buy another nice m5 with that kind of cash
if you want to, and think that you can be victorious in this...research, research, research... i can't stress this enough...know what to expect when you try to find oversized and lightened pistons that won't cost as much as a remanufactured motor...
just a suggestion...look into a set of Schrick cams...less money, easier to install, more reliable, parts available thru BMPd or from Kormann autowerks.
if you have any questions, i'd like to try and help.
where are you located? i'm in Richmond VA.
