Hi Pat,

The 3.6 litre was made sold in Europe from 1989 to 1992, and in the US from 1990 to 1993. The 3.8 was sold in europe from 1992 to 1995, but was never offically available anywhere else.

The 3.6 has a stroke of 86mm and the 3.8 has a stroke of 90mm. The bore also increased from 93.4mm to 94.6mm.

Regards

John

I'm interested in finding out about the last six cylinder M5's crankshaft. What was the stroke on this engine? I've seen engine sizes of 3.6 and 3.8 liters, were both sizes produced?
