Hi Anders,

Yes, you are correct, the S38B36 does do a self test on startup, this is described here: http://www.m5springboard.com/Info/S38B36Info/index.html

For some reason, the S38B38 doesn;t do this test, don't know why.

When my engine was rebuilt, and after it was run in, I noticed a big jump in torque, at around 4000rpm that wasn't there before, it used to be more seemless than that. I checked the flap, and sure enough, it wasn't working. I took it back to the mechanic who rebuilt it, and he found that he had simply swapped two of the vaccum hoses on the controller.

Hope this helps

regards

John

Has anybody had any trouble with the resonance flap control?
This unit is supposed to check itself by engaging two times
after start up. Can someone confirm this ? Advice regarding fault search will be appreciated! I`ve checked the vaccum hoses...Please respond!
