Not a professional here, but if the spark plug had a lot of oil still on the firing end of the plug that was reomved, then I would be worried about your rings letting too much oil by, causing the plug to get wet and misfire. If the oil is only on the topside, try replacing the gaskets for the valve cover, it takes minimal skill and the 4(?) gaskets are fairly cheap, if there is such a thing with BMW's I've done a valve adjustment job before, and it is recommended to replace the gaskets everytime, but I haven't had any leaks yet. Check in a Bentely manual to verify what the torque value is since I don't know at this time.

I refitted my spark plugs the other day and discovered that one of them were soaked in oil. There are three possibilities of damage: O-rings around coil-"shaft", camshaft cover gaskets or gasket were cylinderhead are devided. Have anybody had simular problems,or a feeling of were the leak probably comes from ? . I just hope the gasket were the cylinderhead are devided are in order...

Please respond, It could make my day!!!!!
