You may know that these cars are very expensive to maintain. If the car still has the HLL rear suspension, check for leaks and operation. Do so by getting some big guys to sit on the bumper or in the trunk (motor off), then start the car, the rear should rise up to running height. Also check for engine leaks ($$), clutch/shifter operation, or anything that might require a shop visit. Did I say that these cars are expensive to maintain?


I am a current 535i user hoping to upgrade to an M5 by the summer or a little later. What are the most expensive problems to fix on the M5? Also, what would be considered a good deal for say a '93 with 100K or so on it? TIA
