Recently I have the feeling I’m a bit down on power. Unless it is just that I’ve become jaded and the power that at first seemed so amazing has become mundane… The car starts and runs fine. There hasn't been a change in fuel or oil consumption or anything else.

As an experiment, I pulled the dipstick while the engine was idling and it made no difference to the way the engine ran. Doing this on my other BMWs in the past ('90 535 or '88 325is)resulted in a wildly fluctuating idle and, if left for a few seconds, the check engine light would activate. My check engine light is working and there are no codes stored. Is this something to be concerned about? Could somebody check theirs and advise?

Thanks,

Anthony
