Agree, coolant leaks must be taken seriously on an M5. I had all my hoses replaced last year and it was something ridiculous like $600 +, yes just for rubber hoses, ouch !, the rad hose in the front which connects to the top of rad and the water pump with the little T connector cost $109 alone. A leak could signify something serious like a cracked head or something which is bloody expensive and could mean poor service, abuse or both. Radiators are not cheap either and water pumps like to go at around 100,000 kms, a leaky water pump means its on it way out. Remember to pay ICBC the $18 bucks and get its accident history checked out for declarations too, dont take anyones word especially the sellers word when they say "oh it was only a little rear ender".

Before you part with any hard earned cash you would be well advised to a)have a BMW M certified mechanic do a comprehensive check (Since you are in BC the two best ones are Vancouver Auto or Park Shore Motors) b) check out this site www.netspace.net.au/~jrobbo/M5/BuyersGuide.htm. M5s can be a major financial drain if not well cared for, and even sometimes if they are. Coolant leaks are sometimes a sign of more serious problems as well, so don't take someone's word unless they are very knowledgeable about this particular car.
I'm curious, is the car in BC now? I wasn't aware of any in this location with that low mileage.
