Car & Driver got 5.6 seconds, Sport Car Illustrated got an average of 5.71 seconds at Milbrook, Personally, using a Gtech Pro, Dinan Chip, everything else stock 5.35 - 5.80 seconds to 60 mph, I have an official 1/4 mile time slip from SIR Washington state, with my local chapter of the BMWCCOA 14.1@101mph while the Gtech reads fast at 13.9@102mph, a little on the optimistic side. Ask anyone here who has raced their M5 against other cars which do mid 5's and low 6's to 60mph and I bet everyone here will confirm the same, this car is fast but it needs to be wrung out. I think the curb weight of the car actually help traction out of the hole say compared to Mustangs and other cars with traction issues. The M5 screams out of the hole like a banshee, try one if you ever get a chance, you will believe it !
Car and Driver in 1991 said 5.6 seconds. That sounds a bit unreal considering the car is way over 3800 pounds. Has anyone actually timed it with G-Tech Pro or something?
