As stated in my previous posts, I have brought in several grey market cars over the years (E28 and E34 M5s, Porsche and Mercedes). It is not easy, and potentially can be very costly - especially with the late model M5s (only because of EPA concerns). Shipping ($1000-1500), insurance ($500), customs (% of purchase price), DOT ($1500) are easy and relatively cheap. However, if you don't pass EPA ($2500+) (I recommend an inspection II and new cat before attempting) the first time, you lose approximately $2500 and must try again at your own expense. Post your fax number and I will fax a copy of my last inclusive bill. Also look in April Roundel classifieds for 93/94 M5 and call John Builder in Atlanta – he just imported three cars recently.
