If I were you I'd have a mechanic examine the car to determine the problem .. then have him write up a detailed description and associated costs. Armed with that, you should be able to convince the idiot's insurance company to fix it. If not, you could always claim it on your policy (if you have collision coverage) and let your insurance company fight with the idiot's insurance company for compensation.

After my son's 325 was involved in a minor front end accident last week-the other idiot turned in front of him-there is a shudder from the drivetrain when accelerating quickly from a start.I think it may be the driveshaft center support. The hit damaged the bumper, radiator and right fender. The other guy's insurance adjustor (they're paying)is trying to tell me that because he sees no driveshaft damage, there is no way that this is accident related. They are trying to tell me it is from fatigue-even though I told the adjustor the shudder was not there before the accident.Total damage (including new radiator, headlights and foglamps)to the '86 325 was $1850.
I'm having the car inspected by my mechanic tomorrow.
Any ideas?

get the damage documented by a couple of mech. and then present the information to the adjuster. also the bill for the assesment. remember it his job to save the insur. co. money, in fact he gets bonuses for doing just that. when you correspond with his co. make sure you cc at the bottom of all your corresponce with an attorney at law and use any name out of the phone book for that. it usually expidites matters. you can use your insurance co too but most of them are working together and will not always fight for you. good luck
