Notwithstanding, the only reasonable mods are a chip ($250) and a cam sprocket ($1000 w/labor). The chips gives you more high rpm power. I have a Dinan and am pleased. Otherwise, Ken is right, a good driver in a stock M5 could still be faster than me in my modified one with R compound tires -- though it wouldn't be easy. :-)

Sean:

The wisest money you can spend right now would be on a driving school. Especially since you just bought the car. Look at the E34 M5's track history, pretty impressive in the early 90's. The car is quite quick stock, worry about HP mod's later. Enjoy the new car.

I just got one and I want to boost the HP. Chip? Filter? Exhaust?

Thanks,

Sean
