'93 m5 with Alpina calipers (archive)

I have a '93 avus blue 3.8, with the nuerburgring suspension and brake setup - floating disk system. Curiously though, it has Alpina calipers. I suppose this was a (later) modification. Pretty impressive braking, to be sure. My question is, how do you find out which brakepads to fit? Is it necessary to disassemble the brakes and look for a part number on the old pads, or is there an easier way?
