One unit in the engine compartment ,BMW M5 -93 (archive)

Hello !!
I have seen on pictures that there are one black unit fastened to the top of the reservoir for the power steering. Next to that box there are one box with 2-3 relays. On my car the box between these two are missing. The cable is however still in place. Does anyone know what kind ot unit this is ?
