Darren,
I recently purcahsed my '91 E34 ///M5 for $22,000. The car is in excellent condition and the body is flawless. The car has 43,000 mi on the engine, but 114,000 overall. The car also had ALL records of everything. I purchased it and live in Indiana. I would have to say that $18,500 is pretty cheap. But you may come up lucky, but I'd be skeptical and check out the car thoroughly. I thought this might help.

I have been looking at a 91 M5 with about 100k miles for about $18.5. Many have already told me this is too cheep to be legit, but it seems reasonable. My question is, is there a large difference between the perfomance and problems with different year E34's?

What seem to be the more problematic years, and what problems should I be looking for? Thanks for your opinions.
