every car manufacturer makes one or more lemon cars, but also some lemon-head in ourselfs !
Take the car back and request a new car as it is stated in the lemon law-book. You should have received this book when you picked up your car !

Yes, it is a shame that BMW has built a car so bad, and sold it for 50k (MSRP is just over 50k , if you paid 60k that's your fault ! )
but this does not mean all of the BMW's are bad ! I have seen BMW's with 200k+ miles and 10+ years which run fine and no major problems at all.
Generally BMW's have good reputation, yours might be an exeption. Take it back, talk to their manager, if needed involve a lawyer.
