I refuse to get in a war of words with you, its just not that important to me. I'm merely trying to educate the enthusiasts out there who are looking for good information. I spoke with Kai this evening, he told me about your car, he told me about your attempts at fixing the car for EPA yourself, and about what a joke it was. $3500 is the work he did for you, an incomplete job b/c you wouldn't pay to let him finish it correctly. I'm not sure what axe it is you have to grind but I frankly don't think you know what you are talking about. I'd love to see copies of your DOT and EPA releases. Maybe run them by my friends at DOT/EPA and see if they are legit? Na, I've got better things to do. And if anyone out there doesn't believe me, do your own investigative work. Most importers won't take these cars without a NEW catalytic converter, which would just about cover P's $4,000 right there. A failed EPA test is no joke to the importer, or the lab so it isn't wise to fuck with it. $2,500 for a good test, if it fails, 1/2 that plus it has to be retested again, for $2,500. P failed two tests that I know of trying to get his car federalized. Anyway, my two cents. Anyone can contact me directly if they'd like more info.-JB in Atlanta
If you over $4k in conversion you got ripped off
that is all I can say................and I have
documented release from DOT and EPA on my 3 euro cars........Plus It helped because I did 95% of the work myself......DOT and EPA prep for test....
you paid $2500 for epa testing....?? Man you got it Without vasaline....OUCH!!!
It all depends on who you get to do your work and how involved you are in it.....
