Smitty,
The e34 ///M5 production started in '89 and ended in'95. '93 is the last year that they were sold in North America.
'93 was also the year that the 3.8l was introduced, however the 138 cars destined for North America that year came with the 3.6l.
During the production run approxiamtely 12,000 e34 ///M5's were produced.
The 3.6l is rated at 315hp while the 3.8l is rated at 340hp.

Hi all,
I'm a M5 curious member of the e28 board. Just have a couple quickies:
What years was the E34 M5 produced and what year did it go to the 3.8l (or is this the Euro spec)?
What are the numbers on the 3.6 vs 3.8 models, assuming manual trannys?
Is there much room for engine performance upgrades, it seems this car pretty much rolled out the factory ready to go!
And.. no Nik-sil problems with this car across the production years correct?
