rear spindle removal (archive)

Does any one know how to remove the spindles from the rear hub Carriers? A BMW Tech and RENNTECH said they use an air hammer. The tech said if caution is used, a Large hammer and a Good Aim, can dislodge them. Has anyone hear did this. Please Email me direct
