Not to hurt your pride Cameron, but either the guy driving the M5 didn't know what he was doing, or you have some pretty good mods on your car. I have 91 w/163K on the clock, and I can pull my friend in his 2000 Z-06. He will get half a car length on my when we both hit the throttle, but the ///M motor cannot be touched. Just to keep everyone updated on my winnings through-out the week:

1998 Acura NSX supercharged
1993 Mazda RX-7 twin turbo
1993 Mistubishi 300GT VR-4
2000 ML55 (he never really tried past 100mph)

The Acura did the same to me that a lot of races do, which is get my by about half a car length or so, then I make up for it in how strong the powerband is on these cars.

Happy ///Motoring!

I've liked the M5 since it came out but the have been few and far between in my area. A couple of weeks ago I was driving in my '90 ZR1 Corvette and on pulls up next to me at a light. The driver didn't pay much attention to me and I thought he wasn't up for a little challenge, but I was wrong. When the light turned green he does a short little blast to show me what he has. Traffic was a little too heavy but as we approached tohe highway on ramp we finally get in the clear.
I follow him onto the highway and he waits for me to come along side of him at about 45mph. I'm in second gear in the meat of my power and it sounded like he was too. When we hit it he stays with me for a split second and then I slowly started to pull on him. I ran it all the way to redline in fourth and by that time I'm doing about 125mph and I have four car lengths on him. As I slow down he comes along side and gives me a thumbs up. I was suprised that he was up for the challenge and his car was too.

Cameron
