I pulled my plugs one Saturday shortly after purchase and found extremely worn plugs. My local Canadaian Tire store (nobody else had anything and the dealer was shut) said they had Bosch plugs in the correct fitment (Y6DC). Upon arrival, their stock was Champion.
Compare the pictures! As the only application for these plugs is M5 (as far as I know) I would have guessed they would at least be the same size. Notice that the Champions are shorter in seat to connector and the firing tip is shorter. As the original parts were so badly worn (gap was almost 0.060" rather than 0.024 per spec) I didn't want to re-install the old ones. Bad mistake. The Champion plugs are crap. I got a bad off-idle stumble which wasn't there before, plus the overall performance was noticably impaired. I quickly ordered a set of the correct Bosch parts and installed. No stumble and excellent performance.
Moral? Stick with the recommended parts!

Does anyone have any experience on which sparkplugs I shall use? The previous owner used wrong plugs....
I'm thinking about buying "Bosch Y 6 DC" or "NGK DPR7EA-9".
