Hi

I have the Dinan stage 1 big brake kit (plus Earl braided lines) on my 1990 E34.

I have to pump the pedal to get a solid feel.
The system has been bled several times, and having talked to a couple of brake specialists, they seem to think that the brake master cylinder is only just up to the job.
(the amount of piston area etc is far higher on the large 4 pot compared to the single pot sliding version of the standard setup ?)

Is the M5 brake master cylinder bigger ?
Does it fit easily ?

advice please

Tim,
The master cylinder on the US, 535 & Euro 1995, M5 with the 4 piston are the same p/n.
I installed the Euro equivelent to the Dinan stage 3 Big Brake upgrade on my 91, M5 and the brakes work great.

I suggest that you pedal bleed the brakes. I have found pressure bleeding may not be forceful enough to move the air bubbles down the lines. Also filling new calipers usually takes several bleedings to extract all the air bubbled.
If you have not replaced the rest of the flexable lines (6 total on the car) you could try that after you bleed the system once more.
Been There Done That...
