Who makes the M Shocks?

My M5 is a '91 with 117K miles - new to me and I love it, but it seems to have an abnormally bouncy ride, even for a performance car. My tech says the accumulators are probably the culprit.

He is suggesting that I put 535i Shock assemblies with Bilstein cartridges in place of my self-leveling suspension. He says he can disconnect the relay and plug lines so everything is still there if I ever want it back to original, everything else is now. Supposedly I get a better ride and handling. Cost estimated at $500-$700 depending on how much we pay for parts.

Anybody done this? Thoughts?

It is a very common procedure to elliminate the self leveling crap. BMW actually offers a motorsport kit for you car so you do not lose the ride quality. It is only available in Germany
but we import them to the U.S. They come complete with M shocks, springs, bumpers, sleeves, mounts,
well the whole nine yards to make it a simple install with no guess work. The kit is 489.00
for the both sides. Shipping would be 36.43.
Call me if I can help 800-624-5410 EXT 17
Thanks john
