I have been through the spark plug routine on my '91 M5 (US version) and as far as I can tell, the Bosch plug are the only ones that are the right length. There are others that will FIT in the head, but when you go to put the plug connectors on they can't reach in far enough to click on securely. I drove around with the NGKs installed for a few days, but it behaved strangely and an engine error code popped up. I switched back to Bosch and all returned to normal. With non-factory plug connectors that don't bottom out, Champion and NGK may well work, but I'm sticking with Bosch.

Does anyone have any experience on which sparkplugs I shall use? The previous owner used wrong plugs....

I'm thinking about buying "Bosch Y 6 DC" or "NGK DPR7EA-9".
