I was just about to purchase a set of 18" rims. Still want to, but I was informed that:
1). They will get damaged quickly here in L.A. (Potholes and stuff.)
2). The Rear Fenders will need to be rolled (car was just painted, so I don't really want to roll)
3). and going down to a 235/40/18 doesn't leave room for error with Speedbumps, and items on the road. ( I guess this is the first point re-worded).

All of this seem valid, BUT. . .
All the newer cars have larger rims, So. . .I would say the only arguement is the fender rolling.

I know that most of you guys have done the wheel upgrade. What is your view on this? Harsh ride? Occasional new rim? Performance sacrific?

Prospective Rim Buyer Wants to Know.

Thanks
